2010 South Australian Oaks Final Field

April 8th, 2010

Also known as the Sportingbet SA Fillies Classic, the $100,000 Group 3 South Australian Oaks (2400m) will headline racing events at the Morphettville Racecourse in Adelaide on Saturday.

Due to jump at 3.40pm, the Group 3 race will be one of eight to take place and will see 14 fantastic three-year-old fillies compete, all forming the South Australian Oaks Day – part of the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival.

Gallant Lady, trained by Lee Freedman and Mick Price-trained Ar Dan, will be starting the 2010 SA Oaks from the inside barrier and barrier 14 respectively.

Flemington-based Legislature drew well with barrier two.

Ipioga, a favourite trained by Danny O’Brien drew wide for Saturday’s race and will start from barrier 11.

Vimy – another strong contender will be on the inside of the filly, with the Lee Freedman-trained Vimy starting from barrier 10.

Flemington-based Legislature drew well with barrier two, and the filly has come second in her last two starts so could be another one to watch.

Also taking place on Saturday alongside the 2010 SA Oaks will be the $100,000 Group 3 SA Sires Produce Stakes (1400m).
